Amboseli National Park
A spectacular Amboseli wilderness beneath the snow-capped silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro, renowned for vast elephant herds, open plains and unforgettable African landscapes.
Amboseli National Park in its own rhythm.
Amboseli is not simply a place to see elephants. It is a place to witness wildlife beneath the unforgettable presence of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Across the open plains of southern Kenya, every day unfolds beneath Africa’s highest mountain. Dawn brings elephants moving through the wetlands, giraffes crossing the grasslands and predators beginning their search across the dusty savannah. By evening, the same landscape is transformed by golden light, long shadows and the dramatic silhouette of Kilimanjaro beyond the horizon.
For many, Amboseli is synonymous with its magnificent elephants—large herds moving peacefully across the plains and gathering around the park’s wetlands. But Amboseli offers far more than elephant encounters. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest and numerous antelope species inhabit its varied landscapes, while seasonal waters attract an impressive diversity of birdlife throughout the year.
Beyond the wildlife is a landscape with its own character: sweeping grasslands, acacia woodlands, dusty plains and lush wetlands sustained by underground waters flowing from Kilimanjaro. It is also a living cultural landscape, shaped by the Maasai people and their enduring relationship with this remarkable environment.
At Naibalaa Mara Safaris, we believe a safari should be more than a collection of sightings. It should give you space to watch, listen and connect with the wilderness. To experience Amboseli not simply as a destination beneath Kilimanjaro, but as a traveller immersed in its landscapes, wildlife and timeless story.
